Here is the Brickwahl’s picks of the week in College Football. Make yourself some money ole boys!
Michigan vs. Penn State (-9)
Plan on Michigan to cover. Jimmy will rowdy up the Blue boys from MU and stay close with Penn State. Sequin Barkley will start start the fire early, but will slow down in the second half.
Result: Michigan will cover
Kentucky vs. Mississippi State (-10)
This is might be the most surprising spread of the weekend. UK is 5-1 with their only loss coming with heartbreak at home to Florida on a last second play. I like the Cats coming to play in Starkville this weekend, take UK to cover.
Result: UK will cover
Illinois vs. Minnesota (-13.5)
Throughout this week, the line on this game went from 14.5 to 13.5 on the Gophers. Minnesota is hot this year, and the Illini haven’t shown promise on the football field since Rashard Mendenhall was in Blue and Orange in Champaign. Gophers by at LEAST 20.
Result: Minnesota will cover
Tennessee vs. Alabama (-36)
I am going to not be absolute idiot this time and pick against the Crimson Tide like I did a few weeks back (Vandy will cover the 18 I said, but Bama won 59-0 in Nashville) Butch Jones’s hot seat has to feel like a Fireball shot, tastes great, but burns like hell. Tide by at least 40.
Result: Alabama will cover
Oklahoma State (-7) vs. Texas
C’mon Vegas, Oklahoma State seven point favorites in Austin? The Horns have been on the come up this year and I’ll be damned if they don’t beat Oklahoma State in Austin this weekend. Hook Em Horns! Texas WILL win.
Result: Texas will cover
Louisville vs. Florida State (-7)
This game is in Tallahassee this year, so you won’t see a repeat of last years 63-10 blowout by Louisville and a Lamar Jackson in the PRIME of his college career. Both teams have not lived up to expectations this year, FSU’s big dog QB went down against Alabama and there season hasn’t been the same since. Louisville is coming off a loss to Boston freaking College on a last second field goal in a game they should have won easily, but their VERY sub par defense let the game go in the second half. This game will keep people at the edge of their seat, but I got FSU pulling away in the 4th quarter by 10.
Result: FSU will cover
Auburn (-15.5) vs.Arkansas
Although this game is in Fayetteville, don’t expect anything out of this Razorbacks squad. Bret Bielema is flying by the seat of his pants and as all coaches that leave Wisconsin for “better” jobs he has not gotten the job done and will be like Butch Jones at the end of the season, unemployed. Auburn by 17+. They will bounce back from their loss to LSU last week.
Result: Auburn will cover
Oklahoma (-14) vs. Kansas State
This one is another spread I don’t agree with. How can you favor Oklahoma by this much after losing to IOWA STATE!? Bill Snyder always puts a strong team out there and plus this game is in Manhattan, so plan on Kansas State covering the 14.
Result: Kansas State will cover
Colorado vs. Washington State (-10)
I’ll tell you, I didn’t see the boys from Wazzau getting cracked by USC last week with Mike Leach at the helm, but I was wrong. Colorado has stuck with good PAC 12 teams such as Washington, UCLA, and Arizona so I think this game will be inside 10 points. Take the Buffs!
Result: Colorado will cover
USC vs. Notre Dame (-3.5)
I stand by my tweet from weeks ago during the Texas/USC game, Sam Darnold is overrated. They BARELY beat Utah last week which should have been an easy win. Expect Notre Dame to EASILY cover the 3.5, the Irish have been playing great football on both sides of the ball, expect the Irish will win by at least two touchdowns.
Result: Notre Dame will cover
UAB (-7.5) vs. UNC-Charlotte
Well, to start Charlotte has failed to even win a game this year so Blazers will cover with no problem whatsoever with a 4-2 start to a year that will bring memories back to Birmingham.
Result: UAB will cover
Syracuse vs. Miami (FL) (-17)
Syracuse has two quality wins this year: #2 Clemson (last week) and a win over Pitt, so I think they will cover the spread easily with Miami, who hasn’t played a quality ACC team yet this year. Syracuse stays within 10.
Result: Syracuse will cover
Good luck with your picks this week!
